So we can now dispense of the scenario the White House and right-wing pundits have attempted to sell these last few days - that Bush saw his speech for the first time when it was handed to him as he walked to the podium January 27.

The Bush administration has known all along that the evidence of the imminent threat of Saddam's weapons and the al-Qaida connections were pumped up. They were manning the air hose.
