Halliburton loots Iraq
The great oil robbery

US can cry wolf only so many times

Government by criminals
Having worked in another country it comes as no surprise to me that the Americans should be floundering... As a newcomer to the area I had no quick way of knowing people's pasts and reputations. Just getting to know the patch properly would have taken more time than I had...

How Howell Raines Enables
Journalistic and Presidential Lying

Why The U.S. FCC's Rules Matter
You can gauge our society's political and social health by checking some vital media signs: Scrutinize the programming of stations that fall under the purview of the Federal Communications Commission. Watch a few dozen TV channels. Listen to all the radio stations on the AM and FM bands. If the dominant content doesn't make you feel sick, then you're probably not paying close attention.

Mass Graves How The US And Britain
Are Betraying the Iraqi People

The anti-war movement had no illusions about the nature of the Iraqi dictatorship. But the authentic anti-war movement recognized that the United States and Britain had no real concern for the Iraqi people, and that the "liberation" they were promising was a cynical sham.

The spoils of victory have become a huge mess
A full month after our great triumph, the critics are as critical as ever, the United States is still isolated and Iraq has turned into a seething pit of chaos and resentment. Instead of being cornered and cowed, al-Qaida is on the offensive, deploying suicide bombers to slaughter Americans. And has anyone noticed that Afghanistan has slid back into anarchy?

Global Eye -- Language Barrier
This activity -- now known as "entrepreneurship" -- was also once called by a different name: "war profiteering." In ages past, this was considered a heinous crime, worthy of punishment by death and eternal damnation thereafter. But these are not such times.

But we were focused on fighting terrorism ...

Some Audience Members Told
Not to Wear Ties for Bush Speech

When it comes to Bush's public appearances, it seems very little is left to chance.

Grit Your Teeth Surgery in 'Liberated' Iraq
In a recent Media Alert, 'Killings At Falluja The BBC Tells One Side Of The Story' (April 29, 2003), we reported how the BBC's lunchtime news had devoted 3 minutes and 10 seconds to the killing of 16 and wounding of 75 Iraqi civilian protestors by US troops in Falluja. In those 190 seconds, the BBC repeated the claim that the US had acted in self-defence five times. The claim made by Iraqi protestors - that the demonstration had been peaceful and unarmed - was not mentioned.

CIA may be behind Saudi bombing: Ka Roger

WMD? MIA

Saudi Arabia, West Africa --
Next Stops in the Infinite War for Oil

The three bombings of expatriate compounds which took place in the Saudi Capital on Monday, May 12, signal more than a "resurgent" al Qaeda. That the CIA, the Bush family and Osama bin Laden have been cooperating and doing business for decades is now extremely well documented and part of the "9/11 cover-up" being alluded to by Bob Graham, the former chair of the Senate intelligence committee, in his public remarks.

Rummy Has 15,000 Reasons
Why Iraq is Not in the Midst of Anarchy

Why does the United States need military bases in Saudi Arabia where they hate Americans, when the U.S. can build military bases in Iraq where the population can be forced to like Americans? It's pretty obvious that if you protest against the U.S. over there you have a good chance of dying or becoming an "enemy combatant," where you're promptly imprisoned. Thank goodness Saddam is gone huh?
