The coincidence must have had something to do with fate. On the same day Tony Blair made his passionate defence of the west's intelligence services, the daughter of Derek Bond appeared on television to protest about her father's imprisonment in South Africa on the say-so of crack intelligence from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation.
