You said I should search for the truth; God is truth. No religion can save a person and yes we are saved by God's mercy and His grace.
You should be aware of the dead sea scrolls found in Israel some time ago. What they have found there only supports what the bible says! The scroll of Isaiah was found to be completely in line with the book of Isaiah in the bible and other books as well. Second; If a person has faith he would go by what the Word of God says and not man. Isaiah 40:8 says"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever." And the book of psalms 119:160 says"Thy word [is] true [from] the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments [endureth] for ever." And Jesus in Matthew 24:35 said"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." and again in Matthew 5:18"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." So the scriptures are very clear that the Word of God would remained until ALL be fulfilled. With the 35000 manuscrips still around to this day, they are all 99.5% accurate from one another and the parts that are not the same(0.5%) are speeling issues. Saying the bible is corrupt is making a liar out of God, and God does not lie. The book of Revelation is clear on adding any new doctrines. And many places we see the same statement "Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother." 1John 3:9-10 "...that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine," 1 Timothy 1:3 "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;" 1 Timothy 1:9-10 "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables." 2 Timothy 4:4. "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of." 2 Peter 2:1-2
And these passages also apply to the catholic church (what the bible calls the whore of babylon)
God's Word is pure and we should all take heed to following it. He has warned us that many false teachers and false prophets would arise and try to undo His work. God is love and would like for everyone to be saved, but of curse not everyone recognizes that they need salvation and this salvation is through his Son.
To clarify the Diety of Christ. Read Isaiah chapters 9, 11 and 53 and from the bok of Psalms chapter 110. There are numerous passages to clarify this subject.
Religion does not save, Jesus saves. He paid for our sins (sin cannot enter heaven, so we would ALL be lost. This is why Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice, He was without sin) And now He is sitting at the right-hand of God like the scriptures say.
